Anxiety Tips
When it comes to everyday life, we all want to be able to deal with life’s ups and downs in a calm, centered and peaceful state of mind and body. We at least want to be able to come back to a calm, neutral and comfortable place after our emotions go soaring up or plummeting down.
So how can we bring ourselves back to a place of feeling centered or even bring ourselves to a place where we are poised both on the outside and the inside. A state of mind and body where you can feel secure and safe on this planet no matter what intense experiences we encounter.
To begin finding this center point within ourselves, we first realize that whatever experience we encounter, that afterwards the tension and anxiety will pass.
To find the center point in yourself you must realize that it is your perception of the event that is causing the anxiety. When we know this we can balance our perceptions of the situation.
Being in the Moment
Many times we can get ourselves worked up about the future, trying to plan out everything or figure out scenarios in our lives. Here is why this can cause anxiety in our lives. When you are constantly in the future, you don’t really have any direct control of what is going to happen.
The only real moment we have real control over is the present moment. Once we start being more in the moment, we can realize that there is no anxiety out there, that the anxiety was created on the inside about something that has already passed or has not yet happened.
Practice bringing your attention to the present moment regularly. When you are in a conversation with someone, be fully present with them. Fully engage in the tasks that you are doing.
This way, if you continually work on making your now better, you will be making your future better and there will be fewer things to worry and feel anxious about in the future.
When someone is saying that they are anxious, they are in the movie of their mind making negative movies and they are not fully experiencing the present moment.
What are you really afraid of?
Bruce Di Marsico once said that ‘All fear is the fear that unhappiness will happen’.
As you take this quote and sit with it for a moment, you realize that all we are anxious about is feeling the feelings of unhappiness inside of ourselves.
That’s why you must stop putting too many conditions about when you will feel happy or not.
When you think of it, feeling anxiety in ourselves is like being superstitious.
